چکیده

Younger granite bodies form two arches, the western and eastern (WA, EA), which extend from south northwards Meatique, ophiolitic group-island arc rocks, to large older outcrop north. This paper concerns feasibility of exploration in El-Erediya-Ria El-Garah-El-Gidami-El-Missikat Y Gr regions. Fieldwork remote sensing, together with geochemical, petrochemical, mineralogical studies, are used show controlling factors, routes, origins deposits. Remote sensing is delineate different rock units. Normal strike–slip NW, NNE faults, veins, fractured ENE shear zones, alteration zones magmatic-hydrothermal fluids discussed. Granites considered using petrochemical diagrams as resources. These rocks categorized syeno- alkali feldspar granites. Geochemical binary relationships recognized granites highly fractionated calc-alkaline-altered Monzo-, syeno-, formed active continental margin. The observed positive Ga vs. Cu, Zn, Ni correlations for epithermal-magmatic-hydrothermal polymetallic veins mineralized greisen zones. Negative Cu Mo correlation patterns probable Mo-porphyry deposits deeper at contact point between porphyritic perthite granitic El-Erediya mass. Structural and tectonic evolution of the Umm Gheig/ El-Shush region, central Eastern Desert of Egypt

The rocks of the Wadi Umm Gheig/El-Shush area in the central Eastern Desert of Egypt form part of the Nubian Shield, a component of the Neoproterozoic Pan-African Orogeny. The rocks have been divided into three units: (i) low-grade metamorphosed rocks, which consist of metavolcanic rocks interleaved with slices of ophiolitic melange; (ii) high-grade metamorphic rocks, which consist of syn-tecto...

Influence of cutting height and plant spacing on Sesbania (Sesbania aegyptiaca [Poir]) productivity under hyper-arid conditions in El-kharga Oasis, El-Wadi El-Gaded, Egypt

Search for an adapted forage species for feed production under existing marginal lands and harsh conditions is needed to overcome sever feed shortage in Egypt. Sesbania, Sesbania aegyptiaca (Sesbania sesban, L) has shown potential for forage production and being included in grazing systems, especially on marginal lands and salt–affected soils. An experiment was conducted in the summer of 2004 a...

Geochemical Characteristics and Chemical Electron Microprobe U-Pb-Th Dating of Pitchblende Mineralization from Gabal Gattar Younger Granite, North Eastern Desert, Egypt

Pitchblende mineralization was studied in the younger granite samples collected from Gabal Gattar, north Eastern Desert, Egypt using electron scanning microscope (ESM) and electron probe microanalyses (EPMA). This study revealed that this pitchblende contains significant Zr content reaching up to (66.80% ZrO2), which suggests that volcanic rocks were probably the source of such a deposit. High ...

Zr-Y-Nb-REE mineralization associated with microgranite and basic dykes at EL Sela shear zone, South Eastern Desert, Egypt

El Sela shear zone occurs in the younger granite rock of Gabal El Sela area, south Eastern Desert, Egypt near the Sudan Frontier. It comprises lines-arranged intrusions trending ENE-WSW and extend for about 1.5 km in length and reach up to 40 meters in width. These lines-arranged intrusions include multi-phase quartz veins, altered microgranite and altered basic dykes. These dykes hosting or ac...

Geochemical constraints on the tectonomagmatic evolution of the late Precambrian Fawakhir ophiolite, Central Eastern Desert, Egypt

-The Fawakhir ophiolitic sequence is composed mainly of serpentinites, metagabbros, boninitic metagabbros and metavolcanics. The serpentinites have geochemical features similar to those of depleted-mantle peridotites. Major and trace element characteristics show that the ophiolitic metagabbro and metavolcanic rocks are of tholeiitic to calc-alkaline affinity. REE abundances in the metagabbros a...
